After the disastrous last eight years during which America was diminished as a country and as a concept by its so-called "leaders", the election of this most unconventional candidate as President is as hopeful as it is long overdue.
It's a pretty lousy time to assume the office, but we can only hope that this infusion of new blood can put us back on track to being a shining light to the world rather than one of its major problems.
